How to Really Fish systems
Every system we can show evidence for, and where that evidence came from. 2 of 10 are backed by a figure we read from Roblox; the rest are our reading of the developer's own description, and they say so.
| name | tier | source | notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fishing | Core loop | described | Cast, hook and land a fish. The description's first line is 'catch and fight fish', so the fight is part of the catch rather than a separate mode. |
| Cash | Currency | described | Earned by catching and fighting fish. Three of the game's own badges mark money milestones: First $100, First $1000 and First $10,000. |
| Lures | Upgrade | described | Bought with cash. The description names lures and weapons as the two things money is for, and nothing else. |
| Weapons | Upgrade | described | Bought with cash alongside lures, and used to fight what you hook. The official screenshot shows a character firing a green rifle at a boss whale. |
| The boat | Opening | described | The game opens with a boat crash. We have not confirmed whether the boat comes back later or is only the opening device. |
| Ocean creatures | Threat | described | 'Survive the wild creatures of the ocean' is a description line, and the badge list names one of them: the Kraken. |
| Bosses | Threat | described | The description says playing with friends 'makes bosses easier', so bosses scale with group size in some way. No boss other than the Kraken is named anywhere we can read. |
| Islands | Content | described | 'New islands coming soon' is promised in the description. We have not seen a list of the islands already in the game. |
| Camps and cooking | Side system | measured | The Camp Cook badge, awarded to 211,456 players, is the only public evidence that cooking exists. Nothing in the description mentions it. |
| The badge track | Progression | measured | 13 badges, every one of them created on 27 August 2026. Between them they are the most detailed progression record the game has published anywhere. |
measured means we read the figure from Roblox's own API and can show it to you. described means the developer's store description names it but publishes no numbers. third-party means we saw it in someone else's video and have not confirmed it ourselves.

What we still do not know
These are open on purpose. Every one of them moves into the tables above, tagged as measured, the moment we have checked it ourselves. We would rather leave a gap than fill it with a number we invented.
What does a failed run cost you?
The description asks you to survive and return home, which implies a run can end badly, but nothing states what is lost. Cash, catch and equipment are all candidates and we have confirmed none of them.
How many fish species are there?
No count is published anywhere. The three legendary-sounding badges — Stuff of Legends, Myth Confirmed and Master Angler — are the only hint that rarity exists as a concept.
What maps the five PC keys to actions?
The developer lists Left Click, Right Click, Q, E and Shift with no labels. An official screenshot shows a character firing a weapon, which suggests at least one is a fire action, but that is an inference rather than a statement.
Do bosses other than the Kraken exist?
The description says playing with friends makes bosses easier, which is plural, but the Kraken is the only one named in any public source we could find.
Is money shared between players in a server?
Unconfirmed. The game is built around playing with friends, which makes the question more consequential than it would be in a solo game, and the description does not address it.
